Welcome to Speculative Grammarian.

Speculative Grammarian is the premier scholarly journal featuring research in the neglected field of satirical linguistics.

Speculative Grammarian

Volume CLIV, Number 3
July 2008

For your personal edification and the communal enjoyment of all, another issue of Speculative Grammarian is now available. This issue includes: fascinating all-new articles concerning swinging predicates, slurping, and more Cheap Research (It’s flashy! It’s zappy!); another installment of the Cartoon Theories of Linguistics series; the final Quasi-Linguistic Pseudo-Anglic Transform Puzzle; and the usual high-quality collection of articles, letters from our readers, and more...

Next time (August 2008), we will have another all-new issue of SpecGram.

Speculative Grammarian, Vol CLIV, No 3

We have recently completed our transition from the real world to online: we have finally finished digitizing the tattered remains of our once glorious Archive, re-publishing each issue on the internet.

Our new mission is two-fold:

First, we will continue to publish the best works of satirical linguistics available anywhereso we are, of course, looking for submissions for upcoming issues of SpecGram.

Second, we seek to transform other satirical linguistics resources from their current dead-tree-format to a more readily disseminated bit-based format. Our current project is the conversion of the anthologies Lingua Pranca and Son of Lingua Pranca

I hope you enjoy your visit with us. We hope you’ll come back again soon. There are always several improvements in the works, and we always appreciate your suggestions and ideas.
